If you’ve been following Stacey Solomon’s new home renovation, you’ll know we’re not the only ones completely invested!
Between the beautiful original features, the renovation dilemmas and Stacey’s wonderfully described “Scandi but with glitter” style, there’s been plenty to get excited about.
So much so that our lovely interior designer Milena couldn’t resist having a little play with some ideas of her own!
And she hasn’t stopped at one room.
She’s created design concepts for four rooms in Stacey’s new home – the living room, principal bedroom, dressing room and en-suite bathroom.
At My Bespoke Room, we love showing how clever design can transform a space without ripping everything out or spending a fortune. And that’s exactly what Milena has set out to do here.
So Stacey, if you’re reading this, these are just a few ideas from us to you. We’d LOVE to know what you think!
Meet Milena, the designer behind the ideas

Milena is one of our professional interior designers at My Bespoke Room, and she’s had a wonderful time imagining what she’d do with Stacey’s new home.
Her approach? Keep the beautiful original features, add warmth and personality, and make every room feel like somewhere you’d actually want to live.
Here’s what she’s come up with…
1. The living room: Stacey, please keep that fireplace!
Can we just take a moment for that fireplace?!
At approximately 1.8 metres tall, it’s certainly not subtle. But it’s absolutely magnificent, and Milena is firmly on Team Keep It!
Rather than disguising such an incredible feature, she’d make it the star of the room, balancing its grandeur with softer furniture and a relaxed, family-friendly feel.
The design idea: English country charm meets Scandinavian simplicity
Milena has mixed traditional English country-house character with Scandinavian simplicity, natural textures and just a little playful glamour.
Her biggest suggestion? Lighten the existing dark wood with a softer stain, or paint the mantelpiece in a warm off-white for a more contemporary look.
She’d also introduce white herringbone tiles inside the fireplace recess for a lovely Scandinavian-inspired finish.

For the furniture, think a wonderfully comfortable sofa, a generously sized rug, an upholstered ottoman instead of a hard-edged coffee table, and plenty of soft, layered lighting.
It’s elegant without feeling too formal, and cosy enough for everyday family life.
Milena’s tip: When your home has an extraordinary original feature, don’t automatically assume it needs to go. Making it the focal point can create a much more interesting room – and save a considerable amount of money!
Stacey, we’re firmly on Team Keep the Fireplace. But would you stain it lighter or paint it warm off-white?

2. The principal bedroom: Romantic, relaxed and definitely not too beige!
Next up, Stacey’s principal bedroom.
For this room, Milena has gone a little softer and more romantic, mixing cosy English country cottage charm with Scandinavian comfort and just a touch of glamour.
The design idea: Keep the good bits, transform the atmosphere
One of the cleverest things about this design is what Milena has chosen not to replace.
She’d keep the existing bed, carpet and beautiful architectural features, and even consider painting the textured wallpaper in a warm neutral shade, provided it’s suitable and in good condition.
Instead, she’d focus the budget on beautiful textiles, softer lighting, a statement rug and a few carefully chosen pieces of furniture.
But there’s one thing she’d definitely avoid…
Making everything too beige!
Soft pinks, sage greens, hints of burgundy and vintage-inspired details bring warmth and personality, with colours inspired by the en-suite bathroom to help connect the two spaces.
Two looks, two different personalities
Stacey mentioned wanting ideas for the window bay, and Milena thinks it’s the perfect opportunity to create a cosy seating area.
Option one: A softer, more contemporary scheme with lovely neutral textures and a curved sofa.

Option two: A little more colour and pattern, with two beautifully shaped armchairs in place of the sofa.

Both feel wonderfully inviting, but in slightly different ways.
Milena’s tip: You don’t need to replace everything to transform a bedroom. Sometimes new bedding, lighting, curtains and a carefully considered colour palette can completely change how a room feels.
Stacey, would you choose the softer, more contemporary look or embrace a little more colour and pattern?
3. The dressing room: Stacey, what about PINK?!
Okay, we might have saved one of our favourites for this room…
Stacey has mentioned how much she loves the existing wardrobes and their beautiful decorative handles.
And we’re completely with her!
They’re full of character and would be expensive to recreate. So rather than ripping them out, Milena wanted to explore how a little colour could give them a completely new personality.
Her inspiration? A romantic country-house dressing room with vintage charm and just the right amount of sparkle.
And she’s come up with two gorgeous options.
Option one: Soft, romantic and understated

The first scheme is elegant and understated, with the original cabinetry painted in a soft neutral shade to remove the slightly yellow tone.
Beautiful fabrics, warm lighting and carefully chosen accessories create a dressing room that feels luxurious without being overly formal.
But then Milena decided to have a little more fun…
Option two: The pink dressing room!

Stacey, we think you might LOVE this one!
Dusky pink gives the whole room a completely different personality, while those wonderful original wardrobes, decorative handles and vintage-inspired details keep it feeling elegant.
Add some soft fabrics, beautiful lighting and a little sparkle, and suddenly it’s wonderfully romantic and playful.
And while we’re not normally ones to play favourites, we have to admit we’re rather taken with the pink!
Milena’s tip: Before replacing fitted wardrobes, consider whether a new colour and a few thoughtful finishing touches could completely transform them. Good-quality cabinetry is expensive to replace, and those original details are often what make a room special.
So Stacey, the big question… would you keep the wardrobes neutral or be tempted to go PINK?!
4. The bathroom: From grand hotel to somewhere that feels like home
And finally, that bathroom!
With its extraordinary rose and burgundy marble and grand architectural features, it’s certainly not lacking in drama!
But while the room is undeniably impressive, Milena wanted to explore how it could feel a little warmer, softer and more personal.
The design idea: Let the marble be the star
First things first, that incredible marble is staying!
It’s such a distinctive feature, and replacing it would be a huge undertaking.
Instead, Milena has introduced a classic black-and-white chequered floor to create a fresher, more contemporary feel. The flooring also picks up on the colours in the classical figures, helping bring the whole scheme together.
Natural wood, softer fabrics and layered window treatments balance the grandeur with a little more warmth.

Another idea: A softer look without a major renovation
If Stacey decides to keep the existing tiles, Milena has another clever suggestion.

Covering the bath surround and floor in neutral microcement could create a seamless, contemporary finish while minimising disruption. With proper waterproofing and a suitable anti-slip specification, it can also be a practical choice for a family bathroom.
And for a little extra personality? A beautiful Venetian plaster feature wall to introduce warmth, texture and understated glamour.
Milena’s tip: If your bathroom already has a spectacular feature, work with it rather than against it. Contrasting textures, warm lighting and natural materials can make even the grandest bathroom feel wonderfully inviting.
Stacey, we’d love to know whether this softer take on your incredible bathroom feels more like you!
The one thing we’d keep in every room? Its personality.
If there’s one thing that connects all four designs, it’s this: don’t change things just for the sake of changing them.
From that extraordinary fireplace to the beautiful wardrobes and dramatic bathroom marble, Milena’s ideas celebrate what makes Stacey’s home special.
Because the best homes aren’t necessarily the ones that follow every trend. They’re the ones that feel like the people who live in them.
And we think Stacey would agree!
How do you style a living room with a large statement fireplace?
The trick is to make the fireplace feel like part of the room rather than letting it overwhelm everything else.
Choose furniture that’s appropriately scaled to the space, use a generous rug to anchor the seating area and introduce soft textures to balance the harder architectural details.
As Milena’s design for Stacey shows, an oversized fireplace can become your room’s greatest asset when everything around it works in harmony.
Stacey, over to you!
So there we have it. Four rooms, lots of ideas and one interior designer who’s clearly had a wonderful time putting them together!
Stacey, if you happen to read this, we really hope we’ve given you a little inspiration.
And if you love any of the ideas, they’re yours! We’d absolutely LOVE to hear what you think.
And everyone else, we need your help settling a very important debate…
