Some projects stay with you for years – and this was one of them.
When TV presenter Jasmine Harman reached out to us again, she wasn’t just refreshing a room. She was relocating her family to Spain and transforming a tired villa into their forever home. She wanted warmth, personality and a space that finally felt like them – and she trusted us to help make it happen.
Her brief had heart. She wanted a home where her children could grow, where friends could gather and where memories could be made. When someone shares that with you, you can’t help but become fully invested.
From the first call, we recognised the familiar signs of renovation overwhelm. Designing a full renovation abroad while juggling time zones, filming schedules and trade coordination is no small feat. But the heart of the project carried us through.
“Renovations can be seriously overwhelming – the decisions feel endless, and decision fatigue hits hard. That’s exactly why we’re here.” – Laura, Founder and CEO

“I was very time poor throughout the whole process. Having a team to not only provide me with beautiful designs but actually source everything while keeping my budget in mind was amazing. I would say you won’t find a better interior design service that’s such good value.” Jasmine Harman
The reality behind the scenes
What you don’t see on screen is the sheer scale of what Jasmine was juggling – a full filming schedule, family life, a renovation abroad and, in the middle of it all, Jon becoming unwell twice. The mental load of the entire project fell on her.
From the moment we stepped inside, we knew the villa needed a complete reset. The interiors were dated, walls were coming down, layouts needed rethinking and there was a huge basement that wasn’t being utilised effectively. Absolutely nothing was getting away untouched.
Designer Sarah remembers that first video walk-through vividly:
“It had great bones and a story worth telling. You could feel the potential instantly, it just needed love, clarity and vision.”
That became our starting point. This renovation wasn’t about stripping away the villa’s character. It was about revealing it, and shaping a home that reflected who the family are and how they wanted to live.

How we brought the vision to life

We shaped the entire design around three guiding pillars:
- Honour the original Spanish charm
The villa already had beautiful forms and textures. Our aim was to celebrate them, not hide them. - Create a home that supports real family life
This wasn’t meant to be a show home. It had to stand up to sandy feet, muddy paws, teenagers, guests, and everyday chaos. - Infuse each room with personality and warmth
Nothing cold, nothing flat, nothing generic. Each room needed its own story, connected through a cohesive palette.
Jasmine wanted warmth, colour and easy living – something that felt right for Spain while still feeling personal. Practicality mattered as much as personality.
“If you don’t have a vision, they’ll help you get one. And if you’ve got ideas to incorporate, they’ll work with that. You’re part of the process. It’s a fuss-free way of getting it done without paying through the nose or traveling constantly.” Jasmine Harman
The turnaround was tight, and each designer brought their ideas to the villa:
Olivia: colour, texture & sustainability
She leaned into joyful hues without overwhelming the natural light, also incorporating sustainability.
“Upcycling is so important. Giving pieces a second life suited the whole spirit of this home.” – Olivia
Milena: calm, cohesion & flow
Milena is brilliant at creating flow across multiple levels, which is essential in busy family homes. Her eye for layout helped bring coherence to a home spread across different levels and outdoor areas.
“I wanted the spaces to work beautifully for everyday life, but also feel elegant and calm.”
– Milena
Sarah: refinement, architecture & timelessness
Sarah helped strengthen the overall design direction and made sure the choices we made would stand the test of time.
“I could instantly imagine how bright, welcoming and characterful it could become with the right vision.”
– Sarah

Room-by-Room Highlights
The Basement: Jon’s Dream Space Becomes the Family Heart

“I’ve never had a room the size of this basement, it’s a great space,” – Jasmine Harman in episode six.
The basement was one of the most emotionally important rooms. It was where the family spent most of their time during the renovation, and it was the space Jon cared most about.

“I think you’ll live in this room as a family the most, and it’ll become one of the most used spaces in your home” – Laura
His brief? Nostalgic, fun and unapologetically 80s.
Our designers embraced it with arcade games, film posters and a jukebox, creating a space filled with warmth and personality. The terracotta feature wall tied the room beautifully back to the rest of the villa.
Although the room started as “Jon’s space”, it quickly evolved into the family hub.
A kitchenette near the pool, an air hockey table, a cinema corner and plenty of space to sprawl made it the beating heart of the home. Laura summed it up perfectly.
“We always say every house needs a WOW room, and I think this will be the one” – Laura, CEO and Founder of MBR
The Kids’ Bedrooms: Full Personality, Zero Fear

Designing the children’s rooms was pure joy. Olivia loved the challenge:
“Designing for children requires jumping into their mindset. Their imaginations are vivid – and they set the tone.”– Olivia

Joy’s brief: “rainforest jungle.” Albion’s brief: “rainbow vomit.”
Both gave us the perfect launchpad for bold colour and playful pattern.
The reveals were incredibly emotional. Jasmine admitted she’d happily swap rooms with Joy, saying,
“I just love the styles, the textures and how all the quirky elements come together. It looks even better than the design – it exceeded my expectations.”

Albion’s reaction was unforgettable. His bedroom and then balcony – complete with rainbow wind chimes – became his favourite spot. Those moments are why we do what we do.
“It’s just like my wildest dreams!”
– Albion
“Their faces said it all,” Milena said. “We wanted them to feel truly at home in Spain, and I think we really nailed it.”

The Main Bedroom: From Overwhelming to Oasis

Jasmine originally imagined a bold floral wallpaper. But after collaborating with the team, she embraced a softer, lighter, more breathable look.
Layered linens, rattan, pale woods and soft textures transformed the room entirely.

“The transformation was unbelievable. It didn’t just look different. It felt different.” – Sarah
It became a sanctuary for Jasmine and Jon – a place to truly unwind.
The Living & Dining Space: Vegan Inspiration and Spanish Warmth

Having worked with Jasmine before, this space felt like a creative reunion. The brief: warmth, vegan-friendly materials and durability for real family life..
Sarah’s favourite detail was the original alcove cabinetry:
“Rather than replacing them, we painted them a rich deep green to echo the kitchen cabinetry. It linked the spaces beautifully.”

We suggested a built-in dining bench for added sociability. Woven textures, greenery and soft lighting to make the space relaxed, personal and timeless.
“I’m especially proud of the living room and dining area,” Sarah said. “It’s bright, welcoming and full of those personal touches that make it feel lived-in.”
The Kitchen: A Lucky Find

A turning point came when Jasmine and Jon found an ex-display kitchen with 50% off. After weeks of budget stress, it felt like a miracle.
Once installed, we made it feel uniquely theirs by layering in:
- a statement runner that brought warmth and movement
- playful pop-art-inspired moments that made the family smile
- beautifully crafted ceramics that added soul
- gentle styling details that softened the edges and made it feel like home
A budget win turned into a showpiece.
Terraces & Outdoor Spaces: Sunshine, Texture and Family Living
Designing the outdoor areas was incredibly rewarding. Each space had a different purpose but needed to feel cohesive with the villa — and functional for family life in the Spanish sunshine.
Joy’s Terrace

Her rainforest theme flowed outdoors, complete with the illuminated fountain she fell in love with on a family trip.
“I’m especially proud of Joy’s terrace,” she said. “It’s such a beautiful, generous space.” – Milena
Pool Area

The pool area needed to work hard for a busy family but still feel like a holiday retreat. By echoing the terracotta and colour accents used in the basement, the space linked effortlessly with the rest of the house. Lush greenery, Andalusian touches and soft contemporary finishes made it warm, sunlit and welcoming.
Roof Terrace

Soft neutrals, gentle textures and bamboo screening created a calm space for morning coffees and long summer evenings..
“Soft blues, terracottas and greens flow throughout the home. Each room has its own personality, but the palette ties it all together.”- Milena
Together, these terraces became a natural extension of the home – shaped around how the family truly lives.
A true forever home
This wasn’t just a renovation. It wasn’t even just a relocation.
It was a complete rebirth of a home – and the start of a new chapter for the family.
By the final reveal, the villa had transformed into a place filled with warmth, purpose and story.
“There is no way on this earth I could have achieved this on my own. I was overwhelmed, spinning too many plates and didn’t have time to research products, suppliers or inspiration. It would never have gotten done!” Jasmine Harman
This project was intense, heartfelt and challenging – and a powerful reminder of why we do what we do: to make life easier, create sanctuary-like homes and give people the confidence to bring their vision to life..
“Our job is to cut through the stress, give you confidence with decisions and help you deliver your dream home for your way of living – all on your budget.” – Laura
