A Dream Makeover Thanks to Lindsey and Jess.I absolutely love this company. Lindsey Griffen worked with me to transform my living and dining rooms, and she was absolutely amazing. With just a couple of online chats and a few pictures of the style I liked, she created the perfect look for both spaces.I had a general idea of what I wanted, but I could never have achieved this result without Lindsey. The rooms are nearly finished now and look beautiful—exactly what I had hoped for—and I genuinely love spending time in them.Jess has also been brilliant, managing all the ordering and deliveries. She made sure items arrived at the right time, so I wasn’t overwhelmed with boxes while decorating was still underway. Lindsey sourced everything, and all I had to do was click a button on the website—Jess took care of the rest.I would highly recommend this company.Date of experience: 26 March 2025

Lounge design with MariaMaria was so helpful and spent the time to fully understand our brief and bring our ideas to life. She carefully worked through each element in the room and the end design was really lovely. Maria was so responsive throughout the project and we can't wait to see the end product. Thank you!Date of experience: 14 June 2025

Attentive designers with a great serviceMyBespokeRoom helped me with a new space that is under construction. The area is quite small but I had a clear idea of how I wanted it to feel. I was worried that if I tried to DIY it, I would end up feeling disappointed, because I didn't really know how to achieve what I wanted. So, I signed up for the service thinking that it would be an investment into making sure I got it right first time.My designer Kerry was able to look at my inspiration images and picked out exactly what I was going for. During the process she also produced visuals of the room to help with the decision making. We ended up with a design that really matches the internal vision that I had (and even I didn't know what it was at the start). Kerry also helped with some of the details to tie the new area into other rooms. I'm delighted with the service.I was able to request to use a number of furniture pieces that I already have, which was great. I also used the shopping service to pick up a few other items, which have arrived already.I'm looking forward to putting everything together in the next few weeks.Date of experience: 09 June 2025

1. Just add plants

How to use house plants for interior design

Without fail, for every photo shoot our Head of Design Lucy will arrive with a jungle in tow! It’s amazing to see how a simple house plant can completely transform a space! Every scheme, even neutral and monochrome ones, need contrast and house plants are a wonderful, natural way to achieve that with a pop of colour and texture. Perfect for those who are a little pattern and colour shy!

2. Low level lighting

Have you ever noticed that can’t fully relax when the ‘big light’ is on? That’s because no room is complete without low level lighting in the form of table or floor lamps. They work wonders at helping you to sink into space and they also help to draw your eye to a beautifully styled corner of a room that would otherwise be left in shadow by your ceiling light.

Lighting should also be seen as a work of art in itself. Even when switched off, a beautiful table lamp can add a sculptural element to a sideboard and is perfect for adding height next to a lower level stack of books or a candle for example for your eye to bounce over.

3. Restyle your shelving

It’s easy for exposed shelving to look cluttered rather than curated and you’d be forgiven for being a bit overwhelmed by the idea of restyling them after years of books, vases and trinkets have taken residence!

4. Lay a tray

Clutter is normal and unavoidable part of daily life – we all have the best intentions to tidy everything away after we use it but let’s face it – reality has other ideas!

Instead of fighting it, make a feature of it. Trays are another tool in the Interior Designer’s arsenal and you’ll spot them in many of our photo shoots. They are a great solution to stopping a surface looking cluttered and making them look like they are meant to live there. Place one on your dressing table for your perfume and makeup bottles, or beside your hob for your collection of oils and seasonings.

5. Create a focal point

How to create a focal point in the home

As you walk through your home, look for spaces that are crying out for a focal point – something that catches your eye and draws you in. This can be through an architectural feature like a picture window or a wallpapered feature wall, but it can also be something as simple as a bold print hung on the wall or a beautiful sculptural floor lamp next to an armchair that’s just asking to be sat in!

6. Roll out a rug

Rugs are also an important finishing touch to any room. They add that lovely contrast that we mentioned before (and will mention again!) You can go as neutral or as bold as you like with your rug but they instantly bring in warmth and texture – particularly ideal for bedrooms and living rooms.

Rugs are also a great weapon in your arsenal for open plan spaces. By laying a rug below your dining table or in your seating area, you instantly give that zone a clear definition.

7. Bring in your personality

Every room we design isn’t complete until it reflects its owner in a wonderful and unique way. Whether that’s through family photos, souvenirs from your adventures or a rare collection of cat plates displayed on the wall…whatever it is that brings back memories or sparks emotion – give it pride of place!

8. Fill a blank space

Sometimes all you need is a hammer and a few nails to bring a design to life! A gallery wall ticks so many boxes – you can add your personality by adding in photography or prints from your travels, they can add a pop of colour and contrast to a scheme that looks a little tired AND they make a wonderful focal point to draw your eye in.

9. Lay your dining table

If you’re hosting friends or family then make sure you take some time to lay the dining table before they arrive and incorporate a centre piece to add height. Not only does it look beautiful and welcoming but it prevents the table from becoming a ‘drop zone’, covered in bags and unopened mail which we can all agree is never a good look!
