A Dream Makeover Thanks to Lindsey and Jess.I absolutely love this company. Lindsey Griffen worked with me to transform my living and dining rooms, and she was absolutely amazing. With just a couple of online chats and a few pictures of the style I liked, she created the perfect look for both spaces.I had a general idea of what I wanted, but I could never have achieved this result without Lindsey. The rooms are nearly finished now and look beautiful—exactly what I had hoped for—and I genuinely love spending time in them.Jess has also been brilliant, managing all the ordering and deliveries. She made sure items arrived at the right time, so I wasn’t overwhelmed with boxes while decorating was still underway. Lindsey sourced everything, and all I had to do was click a button on the website—Jess took care of the rest.I would highly recommend this company.Date of experience: 26 March 2025

Lounge design with MariaMaria was so helpful and spent the time to fully understand our brief and bring our ideas to life. She carefully worked through each element in the room and the end design was really lovely. Maria was so responsive throughout the project and we can't wait to see the end product. Thank you!Date of experience: 14 June 2025

Attentive designers with a great serviceMyBespokeRoom helped me with a new space that is under construction. The area is quite small but I had a clear idea of how I wanted it to feel. I was worried that if I tried to DIY it, I would end up feeling disappointed, because I didn't really know how to achieve what I wanted. So, I signed up for the service thinking that it would be an investment into making sure I got it right first time.My designer Kerry was able to look at my inspiration images and picked out exactly what I was going for. During the process she also produced visuals of the room to help with the decision making. We ended up with a design that really matches the internal vision that I had (and even I didn't know what it was at the start). Kerry also helped with some of the details to tie the new area into other rooms. I'm delighted with the service.I was able to request to use a number of furniture pieces that I already have, which was great. I also used the shopping service to pick up a few other items, which have arrived already.I'm looking forward to putting everything together in the next few weeks.Date of experience: 09 June 2025

Interior Design Inspiration » Inspiration & Trends » Aim high: Statement ceilings are the new rage

Interior design is aiming higher than ever in 2020, as statement ceilings are set to be the trend of the year. With searches for ‘statement ceilings’ up 310% on Pinterest, it’s evident that it’s out with the feature wall and in with the feature fifth wall. As a result, we believe it our duty to show you how a statement ceiling can make all the difference.

A statement ceiling, back in the day (we’re talking way, way back), was a signifier of absolute luxury. Then suddenly, for one reason or another (a war or two), the ceiling got forgotten. Now, 70-odd years later, statement ceilings are back, completely reinvented, and we couldn’t be happier about it.

Want some inspiration to give your ceiling the recognition it deserves? Keep on reading…

Geometrics & framing

Add some modern pattern to your ceiling by incorporating some geometrics above your head – these are evidence that statement ceilings don’t need to be traditional or even the slightest bit dated. Don’t feel like covering the whole space, corner to corner? Everyone needs some boundaries; frame the wallpaper or mural and suddenly your ceiling is a piece of artwork.

Enchanted ceilings

Wallpapering the ceiling gives you the opportunity to completely transform a room, and kids’ bedrooms are no exception. Take them to an enchanted forest with whimsical wallpaper, or let them reach for the stars with a space themed mural. The only limit is your imagination… and your ceiling space, and your budget, and what you can buy, and maybe your artistic ability if you’re hand painting. Nevertheless, let your imagination run wild.

Scoring from the half-way line

Yep, apparently we make football jokes now. But in all seriousness, sectioning your walls by creating a contrast with paint has been quite a craze in recent years, and now we’re suggesting you don’t stop when the wall meets the ceiling. Continue the wall colour to the ceiling for a striking finish.

Expose the beams

You heard us, completely expose those beams for what they are (absolutely beautiful). Whether you’re going for a country chic look in a little cottage, or rustic industrial in an edgy loft, exposed beams are going to look great.

Dark & dramatic

This might feel a bit counterintuitive, but just go with us on this one, ok? Paint your ceiling black or a super dark navy, we’re talking as dark as the night sky. This is a super easy way to make your interior pack a punch, without a hefty price tag. Although, we should probably say that this is better for taller ceilings as it will make the ceiling feel slightly lower than before.

Painted panelling

The panelling doesn’t have to be painted, we just liked the alliteration. Either way, this look is simple yet adds tonnes of character. Light wooden, thin panels give a modern, organic finish whilst wide, darker panels can give your ceiling that industrial edge.

Pretty pastels

There we go with the alliteration again, but all for good reason. If your walls don’t stretch quite so high, you might want to consider a paler pop of colour for the ceiling. You’re still adding interest, but not reducing height. Win-win!

The new coffered ceiling

The classic coffered ceiling, framing the perimeter of the room is still a statement in itself, but now it’s time to be experimental with the architecture. You can go for a geometric, minimalistic, traditional or more eclectic look by removing any meticulous symmetry – coffer your ceiling how you like, and if it looks good, we’ll 100% support your decision.
