Very happy returning customer! We have used My Bespoke Room for at least eight designs and, every time, the service has been tremendous - from the designers through to the customer success and shopping teams. They really make the whole experience feel personal. Jelena was incredible. We gave her two very different rooms and design directions, and she absolutely nailed both of them down to the last detail. The packages MBR offer make what feels like a luxury design experience completely affordable and so, so worthwhile.

Using My Bespoke Room was one of the best decisions I made when buying my new flat. I needed help designing my open-plan space and master bedroom, and at the beginning, I honestly had no real idea what I wanted. I was confused, overwhelmed, and second-guessing everything. I had seen Liv mentioned so many times in other reviews, so I asked if she could work on my project, and I am so glad I did. From the first meeting, Liv was amazing. She helped guide me through different design styles and directions, and at one point, everything just clicked, and I realised, “That’s my style.” That was such an important moment for me, because I finally felt like I understood how I wanted my home to look and feel. Her mood boards were incredible. She really pushed me to think differently, but always in a way that made sense, and the ideas she came up with were so right for the space. She clearly has a strong vision and a real talent for understanding what a client wants, even when they are struggling to explain it. I am someone who asks a lot of questions and can be very detailed and sometimes overthink things, but Liv was always patient, helpful and reassuring. I felt in safe hands the whole way through. After that, Sian took over on the shopping side, and she was also fantastic. She helped with ordering, returns and sorting out a few issues with furniture, and she was always kind, patient and helpful. I am genuinely so grateful to both of them. They made a huge difference, and I now live in a space that I absolutely love because of their help. I have already recommended My Bespoke Room to friends and would happily recommend them to anyone else. :)

We cannot thank Laura enough! Laura was amazing at helping us see that she could take the stress away from having to decide about colour schemes, furniture etc and how things could be mapped out in our new downstairs renovation. She took on board our preferences and created a downstairs living space and office that we absolutely love. We would never have been able to create such a calming and amazing space without her input and insight. It totally took the pressure off and was a much more enjoyable experience of creating the rooms according to her brief and mood board. We can't thank her and the team enough! You won't regret hiring their expertise to create spaces that you will love.

Interior Design Inspiration » House Tours » Amanda’s house tour – A neutral haven

Our wonderful client, Amanda asked us to help with 5 rooms in her beautiful new home. She needed help with everything from layouts to finishing touches. We’ve absolutely loved working on this project – so much so that our designers voted the living room design in their top 5 from 2022.

As a completely online design service, we love the opportunity of a photoshoot day so that we get to see how brilliantly our client has implemented the design! This time we also created a little house tour film where interior designer Lucy, talks through the decisions she made throughout.

Here’s what Amanda felt about the process: “I think the fact I’ve come back so many times says it all! Lucy is so well tuned in to our style and I always have 100% confidence I am going to immediately love her designs. I actually can’t imagine the amount of time and hassle it has saved me vs trying to do it myself. The shopping service is fab too – nothing more exciting than all the boxes turning up at the door!”

The Living Room

This room is a lovely big space with great natural light. But with big spaces can come big problems! It can be very difficult to create a cosy atmosphere in spaces this expansive. However, designer Lucy was armed with her 20 years of experience and knew exactly where to begin meeting the client’s needs, starting with the layout. Lucy cleverly brought in all the seating towards the middle of the room centred around a gorgeous vintage rug below a statement ceiling light. This made the seating area feel more intimate and avoided the family having to shout across the room at each other!

She then added sideboards and tables around the edges of the room with sculptural lamps for all important low-level, ambient lighting.

Amanda wanted to stay neutral with the colour palette and so Lucy dotted in touches of soft, muted colour like the sage greens and earthy pinks in the soft furnishings as well as subtly in the artwork.

Neutral schemes can often look quite cold and unwelcoming and so natural materials and texture are very important to weave in. The wooden sideboard and timber side tables provide added warmth and the pops of green in the planting around the room bring it all together.

The Playroom

This room was the first that Lucy transformed for this client because it had several functions and was used throughout the day by the children as a playroom in the day, and then adults as an entertaining and chill-out space in the evenings. That meant it needed to be incredibly functional with lots of storage for toys but also stylish and comfortable.

The deep blue corner sofa works not only as seating but also as a room divider, visually separating this area from the the kitchen / diner. To hide the back of the sofa, Lucy added this stunning fluted sideboard that provided even more storage.

The star of the show in this room has to be the seriously stylish kids’ storage. It has open shelving so that their daughter’s favourite toys are always within reach. Closed storage as well as rattan baskets provide much-needed places to hide away the mess at the end of the day when the room transforms into an adult space.

The Home Office

An important task in this home office was the maximise the storage and so Lucy suggested adding some built-in storage across the end wall. She suggested plenty of closed storage to hide all the messy paperwork and technology like printers that we don’t need to see! She also added open storage as well with the shelves so that the client can style them with books, mementoes and family pictures.

The added bonus is that the beautiful, bold shelving provides a gorgeous backdrop to the client’s Zoom calls!

On the opposite side of the room is the desk which sits next to the window – carefully located as natural light is very important in a home office. The space wasn’t generous as the door swung inwards, so to save desk space Lucy sourced a wall light instead of a desk lamp. There are loads of fantastic plug-in options which don’t require an electrician, so this can be a great cost-saver.

The Main Bedroom

The main bedroom has an incredible vaulted ceiling which makes the room feel super spacious. Similar to the living room however, all that lovely space can be a problem when you want a cosy vibe. Bedrooms are just such spaces when it comes to getting some shut-eye.

Dark walls or ceilings can work really well to achieve this and warm up a space but Amanda loves neutral schemes and so Lucy employed all her other tricks of the trade! She layered in lots of soft furnishings on the bed, sofa as well as a wonderfully textured boucle dressing table chair. The large rug was a must. It adds warmth but it also helps to frame the bed in the centre of the room and break up the eye when it takes in all that open floor space.

Low-level lighting was also essential to create a warm, cosy feeling at night. Simply switch off the big ceiling light and turn on the floor and table lamps to draw you down lower into the space and make the vaulted ceiling less cavernous.

With a new baby on the way and a move into the ‘big room’, it was really important that their daughter had the bedroom of her dreams with plenty of space to play and call her own.

We’re all a little obsessed with the shade of pink that Lucy sourced for the room! It’s feminine without being sickly sweet. She chose to contrast the pink with baby blue dotted around the room. The decision to only paint three-quarters of the wall also keeps the room fresh and modern.
