The brief

Create a warm and timeless living and dining room with a mix of classic, Scandinavian and mid-century influences.
Keep the main palette light and neutral while introducing stronger teal and warm accent colours.
Retain key existing pieces, including the dining table and TV area, while refreshing the wider scheme around them.
Strengthen the fireplace as a focal point with darker finishes and a statement mirror.

The result

The living area is softened with a new neutral three-seater sofa, allowing patterned cushions and the teal armchair to provide stronger colour without overpowering the space. A textured rug adds warmth underfoot, while the matte black fireplace creates definition and is balanced by a large bronze arched mirror and carefully styled shelving.

In the dining area, the existing industrial table is retained and paired with rattan and faux-leather dining chairs for a relaxed mid-century feel. An eclectic gallery wall introduces colour, character and personal artwork, while a mid-century sideboard beside the fireplace adds both practical storage and another layer of warmth to the overall scheme.
