Christines Dining Room
Designer's Edit
A cozy dining room featuring a blend of modern and classic elements. The focal point is an Isla 2.5 seat sofa upholstered in Juniper Aquaclean clever chenille, offering a deep green hue that harmonizes with the earthy tones of the space. Complementing this is a rectangular John Lewis Iona extending round dining table in a sleek black finish, which accommodates 4 to 6 diners, paired with elegantly curved rattan dining chairs that enhance the inviting ambiance. The room is anchored by a striking Vianna black and ivory rug, sized 245 x 305 cm, layering the floor with intricate patterns, while a Bronte fine loop rug in smoke adds texture and contrast nearby. In terms of lighting, a Stourton six-light antique brass and glass pendant ceiling light hangs overhead, radiating a warm glow, alongside a John Lewis Monty rechargeable LED table lamp in matte antique brass, strategically placed on a side table for additional illumination. Artfully arranged on the walls are framed artworks showcasing botanical prints, which amplify the natural theme that runs throughout the space. An aesthetic touch is offered by the carefully selected accessories including a Moss stitched pom pom cushion in tan, a Kendall bottle vase in brown, and a vintage poster from Vogue, all of which draw attention while complementing the overall décor. Complementing the furnishings, dark green window treatments add elegance while ensuring privacy and light control. A touch of greenery is introduced with a potted Chinese white olive tree, augmenting the room's liveliness and freshness. Lastly, a Hilden drinks cabinet in black provides storage while maintaining the room's refined look. Overall, the design feels cohesive, stylish, and inviting, perfect for both everyday dining and entertaining guests.
Hi Christine,
I’m delighted to share your final room design and product suggestions. Don’t forget to click on the video under your moodboard to watch your virtual design presentation!
Product Suggestions:
If you scroll down from your design you will find your product list with all my recommended items. If you click on "alternatives," you'll find even more options for each category. There’s a favourites button on each product, so feel free to click it! That way, we can chat about your top picks since I’ll be able to see which ones you like best as does your shopper Jess!
I have specified all items based on the dimensions and information you provided in your brief but it’s always worth double checking that you’re happy with the size of larger furniture items/light fittings before placing your order. Also that you have the appropriate delivery access into your property.
Sofa:
For the fabric, the options shown on the Loaf sofas are a clever fabric which are better for spillages etc. For the Sofa.com sofas the following fabrics could work (Doe house soft touch, Taupe brushed linen cotton & Aquaclean clever chenille Juniper). I've some samples arriving for Loaf so once they arrive I will double check the fabric choices on the Loaf options.
Where possible the shopping support team will organise samples for your upholstered items. It’s really important to check you’re happy with the colour/sample before ordering as colour representation on screens can vary. If you require any additional samples just let them know and they will be happy to help.
Cushion:
Certain retailers supply cushion cover only and it will state this in the title of the item so if you need the inner cushion don't forget to add that to your basket as a separate item.
Paint:
I have included some great paint colour suggestions for your room design with handy links so you can order any samples you want and then your chosen paint directly from the retailer when you are ready. It’s always best to use the retailer's paint calculator, or your decorator's estimate for paint quantity. Some of the paint options may appear to have a little too much of a pink undertone so I've shown a few different ones so you can test these samples out in situ. The 'cold brew' option I think has a lovely warming undertone. I've suggested the 'Sunday soul' for the top section of the walls. I have shown the skirting boards to be in white, however if you wanted a more dramatic approach you could look at painting the skirting boards in the same finish as the walls. I do love colour drenching! I also think painting the radiator in the same colour as the walls will be a great touch to the space. The current black painted internal door I think looks great with the design and would recommend keeping it the same.
If there are any Coat paint colours you love you can use this exclusive discount code to save 20% on any paint purchased directly with Coat CCMBR20
Window Dressing:
I have included some great options for the style of window dressing in your room. All window dressing needs to be ordered in the correct size for your window(s) - to do this simply click the link on the window dressing suggestions, enter the size and you can place the order directly with the retailer.
It's also handy to order fabric samples and compare these against the paint finishes. Some clients tend to take these samples to some local shops and use it for inspiration.
I have also included some great fabric choices if you decide to opt for made-to-measure curtains. You just need to choose your favourite and give the details to your chosen curtain maker.
Wall Mounted Furniture & Shelving:
As per agreed layout, there is some shelving located above the piano. Please note that different wall materials require different types of fixing devices. It is important to use suitable fixing devices for the walls in your home and also to ensure your walls construction can support the weight. If you are uncertain about what type of fixing devices to use or whether the wall construction is suitable, please contact your local hardware store or your contractor.
Plants:
I have included a great selection of real and/or faux plants for your room with some lovely planter options also. Please be sure to check the size of the planter or basket fits the plant pot of the plant you have chosen if you select an option from the alternatives! You can use this as a style guide and source them from a local garden centre too.
Art:
I have suggested some great pieces of artwork that I believe will pull together your scheme beautifully. However, art is such a personal choice, so do feel free to use these options as a guide if the pieces I’ve suggested don’t quite hit the mark! I know you also have some lovely pieces of art which could also be incorporated into the scheme.
Budget Notes:
The overall room design has been pulled together with your budget in mind, however I have also dropped in a few special pieces that you may want to invest in as I know you were flexible!
Have a good look through all the alternatives and remember you can swap things around to balance your budget as you like.
Sustainability:
Within the items in your shopping list I’ve sourced some pieces from some retailers that offer more sustainably resourced furniture.
Shop Direct:
There is a small selection of retailers who only deliver directly to the account holder, such as Desenio and therefore we are unable to offer as part of our shopping service. If you do select anything from these retailers there is a handy link on the product which takes you directly to the retailer site.
Once you’ve had the time to digest the design, please let me know if you have any questions. As a reminder, you have two weeks to come back to me with any questions on the design.
Warm Wishes,
Natalie
